Grouping, Sorting and Filtering in Primavera P6?

Updated: Aug 2, 2020

Grouping organizes activities or projects into categories that share a common attribute. As an example, focus on activities by resource, responsibility, or dates. Sorting arranges activities, resources, or projects in any order you decide on like by start date. Filters enable you to narrow your choice to a specific data group.

GROUPING

Group to organize data in categories that share a common attribute like enterprise project structure (EPS), work breakdown structure (WBS), code value, or resource.

SORTING

Sorting determines the sequence in which projects, activities, or resources are listed in the current window. You’ll be able to sort alphabetically, numerically, or chronologically based on the data item you decide on.

FILTERING

Use filters to focus on specific data. A filter could be a set of instructions that determines that data display in the current window. You’ll be able to create one set of filters for activities and one set for projects, or

use predefined filters. Filters can be user-defined, global or layout. User-defined filters are filters that you simply outline. They’re available only to you for all projects to which you have access. Global filters are available to all users for all projects. Layout Filters are only available to the currently open layout.
